Our Story
Our team of master craftsman is continually trying to find out if perfection is possible. Learn how our roots and our artistic ability have molded Traditional Metals into what it is today.
An American Dream
Raised in the heartland in rural Indiana, we grew up learning the value of work ethic. The environment taught us our acute attention to detail and practicality in design.
Fast forward and we've accumulated many years of artistic and creative design, now paired with the roots of our heritage to create products made from pure, natural materials and traditional metalworking techniques with an artistic spin.
Our products are all manufactured here in our Indiana studio and have been curated for people who appreciate great design and practicality. People like you!
Our Process
From the time the pencil hits the paper, our focus is creating the most practical built products with unique artistic features to make them one of a kind. We are diligent in our process and are constantly seeking perfection with how we go about creating our works of art.
Design
It starts with a spark of inspiration and an idea is born. Shortly after, we are drawing and designing to test the feasibility of a product. We take a practical approach to design mulling over the most logical way to achieve the best possible result. Traditional metalworking techniques are married with our artistic approach bringing life to the beautiful products that can be seen in our portfolio.
Prototype
Once the design ground work is laid, we build a prototype. This is an important piece of the production process to weed out any redundant processes and make sure scaling the product is feasible. It also helps us get an idea of the materials and finishes we can offer so clients have a variety of choices.
Scaling
Now that we've firmed up processes and know the offerings we can provide, it's time to scale the product. This process includes building out our engineering files and automating any CAD work we can so panels and holes line up perfectly every time fabrication starts.
Launch
Once we have scaled out the product and see it's potential, it's time to upload it to the website and create a product customizer so clients can have a visual of the product before purchasing. Before a product is launched to the public, we first send it out via our email list, so if you don't want to miss anything, make sure to sign up!
